Lehi's dream carved in a rock!
Hola familia!
Haha glad to see the fact that we run on Mexican time is shown in the program (for Bonanza Ward)! Haha looks like you guys had an awesome week! despite the LA traffic!
It's been an adventurous week for me as well! Starting with the earthquake that woke us up in the middle of the night down to almost losing my life to a deceivingly dry looking mud hole in pursuit of the salvation of souls, to Izapa!
We exchanged a couple of our P-day hours to go check out the Izapa ruins! Too cool! We went and got to see Lehi's dream carved in a rock! I love that down here we get to come and see real life evidence of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon! Unfortunately my camera gave up the ghost right before we got to the actual ruin structures insert broken heart. I felt a lot like one of the ten virgins that didn't bring enough oil for her lamp and the bridegroom came. But lesson way learned! On a temporal and spiritual level, not doing the little things that recharge you spiritually and going out to face the world is like bringing a dead camera to Izapa!
But by far the greatest adventure, as always, was going out and teaching! Li_ and An_ and Jo_ all will be baptized this weekend, at last! Woohoo! So we're expecting a wet week! And Ca_ and Ma_ and Ja_ and Ca_ are progressing a lot! Right now we are working with them on the Word of Wisdom.
Poor Hermana Gomez has been out of service the last few days. On Saturday they took out one of her wisdom teeth. It was a brutal procedure! I'm the witness! She only had one they needed to take out, but it took them two and a half hours and she looks like she got in a street fight. And to make the experience even better they don't put you to sleep here. So I've been eating a lot of jello with my companion this weekend for moral support.
Spanish fail for JJ: Conchita vs. cochita. Conchita is the nickname for people named Concepcion, cochita means little pig. I've definitely been calling all of the Concepcion's I know little pigs for 8 months. Awkward.
Love you guys mucho and hope you have a great week and choose the right!
