A Bonanza for missionary work ;)
Hola Familia!
Another week of house hunting for you? Another week of investigator hunting for me. I think we're going to try what you guys do with the nicknames, because it gets a little confusing when we literally call everyone el hermano or la hermana haha. Love the gospel metaphor! It's so true, prayer is the mango de piña to our spirits! And haha I didn't even know what Bonanza meant [Bonanza is Hermana Larsen's area], that's awesome!
Thus far it has indeed been a bonanza for missionary work ;)
Wow, Mom! That's a ton of back and forth! When are you going to visit me and leave me in tears?? Like Dad and his onions, haha. Sending successful vibes your way, Jarrad! I will also be wearing skirts all week on your behalf. Cam, I want a lifetime supply of car lashes. Haha glad to know los niños are still alive! Sounds like they all had fun weeks with friends! One day you'll be able to give your life force, Mo! No, Ez, I didn't see any legos this week :( and sorry, JJ, no Spanish fails. I'm getting too good at this Spanish thing ;) JK just give it a week.
This week has been really crazy with meetings and different activities. First we had interviews with President George on Tuesday, a multi-zone conference on Wednesday, a stake council, and an activity in one of the other wards.
This coming Sunday one of our investigators named Me_ is going to be baptized. Me_ is 20 years old and is engaged to the daughter of our ward mission leader. He's really a golden investigator and committed to making changes in his life and really open to the gospel! But he's experiencing a lot of adversity to his baptism right now. His father is not supportive and he's having problems at work. Every Sunday they've given him permission to leave for one hour to go to church, but yesterday they didn't. But he knew he needed to go to church, so he came anyways and could be fired for it. The worst adversity always seems to come right before baptism! Satan's working hard right now, so please pray for Me_!
We had a really cool contact this week with a man named Si_. We've only passed by his house a couple of times and haven't taught him very much, but this week he expressed to us that he loves how he feels when we come and teach him and that he wants to be baptized and come to church with us every week! He's very repentant of his past and really ready and in need of his Savior. We're really excited for him and his progression! It's beautiful how the Lord prepares his children to receive the gospel and I just love when we find this people that are so ready!
We also went on exchanges with the sisters from Xochimilco this week. I went to their area with Hermana Fuentes, who's from the generation of Hermana Gomez. Hermana Fuentes has a super humbling past and it was such a privilege to learn from her for that day! We had some fun checking out the banana trees of a church member and running from their turkey.
